The ILMA DMV Annual Gala Dinner 2025 was a sold-out success, uniting ILMA USA members, friends, and generous donors for an unforgettable evening of hope, healing, and community.
Dr. Paul Tyan, President of the ILMAUSA DMV Chapter, opened the evening with a powerful reminder of the importance of investing in Lebanese medical students. Last year’s $42,000 raised supported 42 students, and this year’s $100,000 goal will help 100 future physicians — every dollar directly shaping the future of healthcare in Lebanon.
This year’s gala proudly honored Dr. Youssef G. Comair, MD, FACS, FAANS, Professor of Neurosurgery and Neurology and Founding Dean of the Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine at the Lebanese American University (LAU), for his lifetime of remarkable achievements in medicine.
Guests were further inspired by Dr. Labib Ghulmiyyah, MD, FACOG, Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC), who shared a powerful keynote on women’s health, leadership, and the resilience of Lebanese physicians.
The cultural program featured renowned Lebanese artist Marwan Chamaa, who joined virtually to unveil a special tribute to the late Ziad Rahbani. His artwork, generously donated to ILMA, supported the evening’s fundraising efforts through an art auction.
Entertainment included live music and dancing with Sarney and the Band, adding joy and celebration to the meaningful night. The event also welcomed Dr. Chady Sarraf, ILMAUSA Treasurer and former President, who traveled from Wichita to be part of this memorable gathering.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, the gala continues to fund opportunities for Lebanese medical students pursuing their education in the United States — shaping the future of healthcare in Lebanon.
