The ILMA-DMV (International Lebanese Medical Association – DC, Maryland, Virginia Chapter) is pleased to support Lebanese medical students through this scholarship initiative.
We are offering a $5,000 scholarship to support Lebanese medical students pursuing clinical or research elective experiences in the United States. This program is designed to foster academic growth, international clinical exposure, and professional development.
A total of 6 scholarships will be awarded.
Application Deadline: May 30, 2026
– Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Lebanese medical student currently enrolled in an accredited medical school in Lebanon
- Have successfully completed core clinical rotations (for clinical electives) or have relevant academic standing (for research electives)
- Have secured acceptance or an official invitation for a clinical or research elective in the United States
- Demonstrate financial need
- Commit to submitting a brief report following completion of the elective experience.
-Required Application Materials: Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Official Medical School Transcript
- Personal Statement (500–700 words)
• Describe your motivation for pursuing a U.S. clinical or research elective
• Outline your career goals and how this experience will contribute to your development - Proof of Clinical or Research Elective Acceptance:
• Acceptance letter or confirmation of application submission - Two Letters of Recommendation
• Preferably from clinical faculty, research mentors, or supervisors - Financial Need Statement
• Provide a clear explanation of your financial circumstances and need for support
-Post-Elective Requirement: Scholarship recipients are required to submit a short report summarizing their elective experience, including clinical exposure, key learnings, and how the experience contributed to their professional growth.
