Required Qualifications:
International Medical Graduate (IMG) of a Lebanese Medical School within the past 5 years
Passed USMLE Step 1
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Passed USMLE Step 2
Eligible for ECGMG certification
 
Job Duties Outlined:
Initiate an investigator-led clinical study including IRB submission, data collection, analysis,
submission, manuscript write-up, and journal submission.
Complete training to become an approved research coordinator, including, but not limited to IRB
training.
Participate in all aspects of clinical research projects, including review and assessment of protocols.
Prepare and submit case studies and written and verbal reports to the Principal Investigator and
Project Manager.
Recruit, evaluate, and educate potential patients for study eligibility, with direction from the Principal
Investigator.
Participate in quality assurance activities by reviewing clinical data in medical record charts,
assessing pharmacy compliance with protocol criteria, and reviewing study documentation to ensure
compliance.
Coordinate study participant visit activities including scheduling procedures, communicating with
subjects, and completing necessary basic study procedures.
Complete a two-week internal medicine inpatient observership which includes rounding with the
The medical team and shadowing interns and residents under the supervision of the KU Hospitalist team,
Attending at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, or Wesley Medical Center.
Give presentations and talks as advised.
Attend weekly educational sessions with internal medicine residents and GI fellows (Grand Rounds or
Journal Club) and monthly sessions required by the KUMC Office of International Programs; attend
teaching and conferences with residents.
Review publication-ready manuscripts for the Kansas Journal of Medicine to learn critical review, as
appropriate.
