In this episode, we discuss Dr. Bizri’s recent trip to Ukraine with MedGlobal in which she visited Lviv in Ukraine as part of a MedGlobal team invited by the Ministry of Health. The team developed a training program for healthcare workers to recognize mental health ailments in their colleagues early on.

Over the past decade, there have been multiple crises in a various areas around the world including Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Ukraine, Mali, and multiple others. On top of that, there has been the COVID-19 crisis. Healthcare workers have been affected significantly by these crises, and especially by COVID-19. Recognizing the mental health effects of these crises on healthcare workers is of utmost importance. Dr. Bizri highlights the importance of this point and discusses future plans for early recognition.
